Mincemeat Cookies

MINCEMEAT

3 boxes raisins or 6 cups
2 quarts cooked beef or pork (ground)
1 pint broth
1 quart apples, chopped
2 quarts grape juice, sweetened
3 Tbsp. lemon juice

Cook until raisins are tender.

Can or freeze

COOKIES

1-1/4 c. sifted flour
1-/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 cup shortening
1/2 cup sugar
1 beaten egg
1 cup mincemeat

Sift flour again with baking powder.  Cream the shortening and sugar.  Add egg and mix well.  Add mincemeat alternately with flour mixture.  Drop by teaspoonfuls onto a greased cookie sheet.  Bake 10-12 min. in 350 degree oven.  Makes 3 dozen.
