What is FASSRD?

Florida Association of Single Square and Round Dancers (FASSRD) is a not-for-profit organization established to promote and stimulate fellowship and interest in square and round dancing among unmarried adults of all ages throughout Florida.

This organization is the “voice” of the single/solo square and round dancers in Florida providing representation on state convention committees, the Florida Federation, and ensuring that appropriate singles/solos sections are designated at all of the large festivals around the state.

Membership

Membership is for any single or solo square dancers who is 18 years older and has graduated from a square or round dance class.  The annual membership fee is $6.

What is the Singles Association Dance?

An annual weekend (Single-RAMA) hosted by FASSRD; held in October at the historic Kenilworth Lodge in Sebring, FL, a FUN weekend of workshops, dancing & partying.  Attendance is open to everyone: Singles, Solos & Couples (Married or not).

What is SSDUSA?

Single Square Dancers USA® (SSDUSA) is the national organization of single square dance clubs and single dancers which was established to promote and stimulate interest square dancing among unmarried adults of all ages.

SSDUSA and the annual dance convention, Dance-A-Rama, which has been held in a different U.S. city every Labor Day weekend since its inception, was the brainchild of Joe B. Ellis of Oklahoma City, OK.

SSDUSA Publishes a quarterly newsletter, the Intercom to keep single square dancers aware of single square dance activities around the country.  They also publish a Yellowrock Directory which lists single oriented square and round dance clubs with information on location, dance times, and telephone and internet contact names and numbers.

Where to Dance

Unfortunately, there is currently only one singles club in the State of Florida – Seabreeze Singles in Jacksonville.

However, there are contacts around the state you can contact for information on singles friendly clubs.
