April 2000

We have a little catching up to do on our news letters for this year.

Our new class members are doing just fine and have started into mainstream classes, they should be ready for the State Convention.  They are really having a good time and plan to go to the convention.  It is always good to have them join in and have a good time.

Our caller, Skip Cleland, is also conducting an Advanced Class for the plus dancers of the Canaveral Squares and neighboring clubs who had stated that they were interested in advancing their dancing skills.  We are having a great time with it.

Many thanks go out to our guest caller, Darrell Figg, for calling at our Valentines Day Dance, he kept us all on our toes and we had a great time.

During the past few months we have been going out on  banner raids and retrievals, and we have enjoyed dancing with all of our friends at the many different clubs in our area.  We also enjoy having our dancing friends come  to retrieve and raid our club for our banners and have a good time.

On April 7th., The Canaveral Squares will be celebrating their 40th. Anniversary Dance.  We do hope everyone will be able to come and join our celebration.

Jean and Cecil Faulk, our presidents, are continuing to ask for your prayers and continued support for those in our club who are going through some trying times with their health and family situations.

Check out our Calendar of Special Dances circulating around the area. Remember, our evenings with our caller, Skip Cleland with harmony by his wife Jennifer, and our cuer, Vince Furtado, makes for vibrant evenings of dancing at McLarty.  Come and join us. Friday nights 8:00 till 10:00.

January 2000

CANAVERAL SQUARES - Rockledge. In honor of Russ Isenbletter, our Charity Dance, Dec. 10th, gave us an opportunity to send donations to the Brevard Hospice. Giving us an opportunity to thank them for their aid in caring for our dear friend, Russ, until his death in October, made our dance even more special. Our caller and cuer, Skip Cleland, and Vince Furtado, were there making it a fun night of dance and socializing through a variety of tunes to enhance our holiday experience.

As always, this time of year we are enjoying our snowbird friends who stop by for a chat and dance. You folks are always welcome to help us Angel the friends you will be dancing with next year-come and get to know these Basic New Dancers from 7:00 - 8:30 pm. Our regular dance hours are 8:00 p.m.- 10:00 p.m. Sorry, no early rounds. In 2000, we look forward to an additional evening of dancing to our caller, Skip Cleland. Skip Cleland, our caller, will be holding Tuesday evening workshops called, "Wanna Advance?", for Plus dancers wishing to learn Advance. This event starts Tuesday, January 11th, and will run from 7:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. at McLarty Recreation Center. We would love to have you all explore the world of dancing on Tuesday and Friday evenings with us!

Thanks for your many great performances throughout the year, Skip Cleland and Vince Furtado. Our club would like to extend "Best Wishes for a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous Square & Round Dancing New Year"!
